half of Poles have returned home from Britain 'not true', says Polish expert

I wonder if the same situation exists for Ireland:

Claims that half of Polish migrants in the UK are heading home are untrue, according to a leading expert from Poland.

A recent report claimed that around 700,000 of the estimated 1.5million eastern European migrants who have come to the UK since 2004 are still here.
And a report by the Institute for Public Policy Research in 2008 claimed that more than half of the Polish migrants who had arrived in the UK havesince returned home.

But an expert on Polish migration today claimed that there was no sign of them coming back to Poland.

Absolutely it does. You are guaranteed to be able to find an expert willing to contest the results of any piece of research in a field such as this in Ireland.

I would agree that they are still in Ireland.

You cant walk around a Tesco or Dunnes without hearing foreign accents. Is it any wonder why Irish people cant get jobs?

And there are still plenty of non EU citizens around, Nigerians, Brazillians etc. Why would they leave? The dole is a great income fo them compared to the poverty they would face at home.

Mmmm. Science-y. God knows, the best way to assess the numbers of foreign nationals in a country is to head to Tesco.

Aren't you an English-reared son of immigrants who lives- by choice- off the dole in Ireland? You're hardly in a position to be complaining about anyone.

You wonder if what "same situation exists in Ireland"? You posted that one source said they were going home while another contradicted this - if you're going to start threads could you do a small bit of research, read your sources, post coherently and generally try making a bit of sense

You read the Mail. And use it as a source. Hmmmm....

I hope the Poles don't go home, it's great (for me at least) to see them here.

The Irish have just invited a brand new community of 600,000 - 700,000 into their midst, a number which will likely rise to around 1 - 1.5 million over the next 10 to 15 years. This is an enormous alteration in a country with around 3.8 million natives. Taken together with a further 50,000 immigrants in the norh and with the community of unionists, the total number of those who do not identify as gaelic Irish has risen in just 10 years from 900,000 unionists to over 1.5 million mixed cultures. This will rise to 2 million, or around 28% of the population, in fairly short order.

This level of peacetime social change is almost unprecedented worldwide. The idiot Irish don't know what they've done.

The language of multi-culturalism in Ireland will be English. It appears that the resolution to the 'Irish problem' is just the same age old prescription dusted down and reworked for a new century - get rid of the Irish, knock down their numbers, reduce their influence, weaken them. The problem with Ireland from the point of view of those in power now just as in the past - and an extremist immigration policy unparalled anywhere else in the world proves this - is the Irish.
