The Day Our Government Died Forever

I am not going to blather on about this as it turns my stomach.

    Lenihan Quote:
It would be UNFAIR to cut this man's salary from 633k to 500k (AIB)

    Cowen quote:
The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, has told the Dáil that the current rate of social welfare spending cannot be maintained

    Lenihan quote:
Finance Minister Brian Lenihan, meanwhile, has warned that having 50% of the workforce paying no tax is no longer viable.

    Scary Mary:
Conluding the debate, Tánaiste Mary Coughlan said she had not heard anything from the Opposition which would stabilise the deficit.

The fool would not hear a train from 5 feet away and she does have full hearing but there is only air between the ears.

These are the scum that raped our country.

They're a sorry bunch. There is something seriously wrong with the Irish electoral system that results in such a high degree of nepotism in a democratic republic. Fianna Fáil is a party of conservative dynasties, not leaders.

Sinn Fein's pre budget document is far superior to the government's proposals and they are more in touch with the real world than the government and I'm a fan of the Austrian School of economics. Has the world gone mad?!!!!

    Absolutely right.

I would like the opportunity to vote for someone who isn't a career politician.

Please give us a list system!

A few people need to stand for election. Preferably next week. We can't afford to wait much longer.

Perhaps its time to have a mock election: - elect an alternative government in waiting.

If you needed medical care would you seek out someone who wasn't a career medic?

AIB have always had a privileged position in this country. Don't forget that in not so far off times both CJH and Garrett Fitzgerald had AIB loans written off. Fifty to one on that some of our current leaders get a queasy feeling in the stomach when their bank manager rings up for a little chat.
