    Deportation

Is this person from FG... is it FG policy? Heard this very same lord mayor say that unemployed people in Limerick who didnt get up of their arse and get a job during the boom period should made do some community work for their dole - paint railings and clean up their local communities - does he include the crime gangs of limerick in this rant?

Well im not racist thats for sure . I think the mayors remarks are 'dishonest' .People in political life should not suggest things that they know are illegal under EU law . 7 weeks ago , this man asked us to vote yes to the EU constitution , he is now complaining about a significant part of that constitution .The mayor wants it both ways it seems .

we have a big problem here in this country regarding foreign nationals. Lets be honest and say we have heard this argument in the pub etc. I too would be more worried about non EU people. If EU citizens have worked here and are now claiming dole, Ihave no problem with that. But their are many foreigners in this country getting welfare here who have not worked at all, I know for certain of families who went home to their homeland for six weeks and they have not worked for nearly 3 years! Its a great country for some. I could not afford a six weeks holiday and I dont have many friends who could either.

Your lust is base. Shall we have a immigration policy based on what you consider beauty?

Fair play to the man. FG should keep him inside the fold. This has nothing to do with racism, and everything to do with charity beginning at home. I realise that the legal position may prevent us deporting EU nationals, but it should be explored for the unemployed EU migrant workers from Eastern Europe who mostly constitute cheap labour. I would also like to thank Alan Kelly MEP for reminding the non public-sector working class why we will never vote for his party. Labour in 2009 has abandoned the working-class in favour of bourgeoise Politically-Correct elitism and a blind adherance to failed European ideologies like multiculturalism, which have led to ghettoisation of cities and the rise of the Far Right elsewhere in Europe. This is not about race - it is about opening a long-overdue debate on immigration. I urge the FG leadership to resist the temptation to pander to the PC-brigade on this issue. Leo Varadkar made a brave proposal for voluntary-repatriation some time ago and I hope Cllr.Kiely's remarks reflect FG coming round to public-opinion.

And that is the fault of the EU nationals???

I bet you weren't calling for their deportation when they were working and paying their taxes.

Thats all well and good Future taoiseach but wouldnt that make them terrible hypocrites ? Given that only 2 months ago Mayor Kiely and FG were questioning the sanity of people with similar 'anti EU' views.

CS, being right is more important than being consistent. I agree with you though on FG hypocrisy on this issue. Now that the referendum is out of the way, maybe politicians will feel freer to say what they really think (if politicians are capable of such a thing).
