Retail Sales down 13.4% in August.

Consumption is 50% of our aggregate demand and its falling off a cliff. But sure take a swipe at me too Mr Lenihan like you did to all the economists that opposed NAMA in your speech last night.

I know you hate anything positive but this link shows BOI expect growth in 2010 and unemployment to peak at 13.5% growth. While you mightn't rate B.O.I the google head said the worst of the global recession is over and our exports are booming.

    MEOW!

Bank of Ireland forecasts are admittedly unbelieveably accurate. Here's one from March of last year which is summarised in the last sentence....

'The global supply of credit may also be curtailed for a time and, as a result, we now expect a less rapid recovery in 2009 with growth set to pick up to 4%,' he states.

I don't hate positive news. The only possible positive news would be if they would seriously address the triple whammy of Fiat Currency, Fractional Reserve Banking and Derivatives. Because if they don't, then we will have to learn how to set up our own society to at the very least feed ourselves.

I agree with most of the lads here. The hull of this ship is firmly pressed into the water and it will continue to sink until we become virtually bankrupt!!

Don't expect the retail sales to go up anytime soon. With the pound almost being at parity with the EURO the mass exodus to the North and Ingerland is inevitable!!

Thats what exactly the govenment wants, you out of here. Not you personally but they would love if a few 100 thousand folks left the state. then their dole figures may not look as bad. Then the top headline of the govenment controlled meda will say "Dole numbers dropped by 10%, financial forecast not as bad as it was thought", while FF ratings rise sharply again.
    Its all a political game.
