And have your house taken off you?
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.

We need genuine accountability for what happened to our economy, and the only way we can ensure it never happens again is by holding those responsible financially liable for the damages.
Which would be fair enough. Politics being what it is, we get an opportunity every 4 years to give people their cards. But if you're fired tomorrow for incompetence, your boss can't try and take back your wages or your pension. Politicians should have the same protection as every other paid employee of the state.

I don't think it's a terrible idea though, but what would the investigation produce? We broadly know what's gone wrong. Unless there's evidence of collusion (which there isn't right now) between the govt, the banks and the property developers, there seems to be little point.

Who died and appointed you a lawyer.

You just want a kangaroo court where decision already made.

If O'Donoghue had his excess expenses deducted from his pension his successors would think twice about living the hog life. If costs of corruption were deducted from their pensions ministers would become much more honest. Lets do it.
