See Submission No. 158 above. Well Depfa bank who seemed to be the ringmaster for the Irish Banking and Financial Establshment back in 2004 -6, subsequently nearly brought down the German Financial System and had to have €35Bn poured into it via its now owners Hypo Real Estate. This is all going on and our politicians concerned just argue about funding and election expenses, whenever they are on radio or TV. God bless the media but they have being pretty harmless.

Where was the broadsheet media questioning when all this was going on? Certainly, they must have been aware. I got about one letter published for every thirty written. Maybe this quote might give us a clue:
“The Irish AEJ Section hosted the 45th Annual Congress in Dublin from November 8 – 11th, 2007. This was a major event when over 70 journalists along with partners and guests arrived in Dublin.
A major sponsorship campaign prepared the way for a very worthwhile and enjoyable three days which included the launch of the AEJ Media Freedom Survey “Goodbye to Freedom” (see below). The major Congress sponsor was DEPFA Bank.”

Goodbye to freedom!!!!!!!!! Well they should know!

Ah Sparkey are you now comparing the OECD with an outfit like HPC? Once again, do you actually know anything about anything?

What you have repeatedly advocated is that under no circumstances should anyone be fired or laid off. It is never the employees fault and always the managers.

You have also repeatedly advocated that public sector workers terms and conditions should be protected. You have done so for many sectors (especially nurses) and indeed in same cases even called for pay increases.......

Those are the only two absolutes you have ever committed to on this site.

You talk allot of generalities about fairness and equality but have never once outlined your idea of how it should work and the only solution you have ever mentioned to the 22 billion hole is more generalities about progressive taxation but again without outlining even in the broadest detail of how it would work.

So no. Sharper is not telling lies. He is stating the truth based on what you have actually committed to.
More lies. Show where I have advocated a response other than by sharing the burden fairly.
I have repeatedly stated that singling out any one group is wrong and will prove counterproductive.
A proper progressive taxation system is the obvious place to start. But you oppose that because you do not wish to share in carrying the burden, you want to hold what you have.
What you advocate would place the burden on the most vulnerable, a typical greed merchant, or greed merchants ass licker, opinion.

    End all aid to Africa
top rate PS pay of 80k
    sack 6,000 HSE staff
    cut PS pay 10%
end all child benefit to those earning over 50k, half it for others
    cut dole by 10%
close many rural schools and hospitals

I really wish I had the power to do this as I have no self doubt that I'd steady the economy.

A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

I would agree that the taxation system should be more progressive hopi. And I would me in favor of a new third top rate.

But how much do you think we can raise from this?
