Although he was co-opted a few months earlier Cathal King has done a great job for Sinn Fein since he got elected. He has been highly visible, has put through a lot of constituency work and is very intelligent and able to mix with the best of them.
The worst is of course Mick Murphy!

I'm not exactly astonished to see some Sinn Fein activist give out about Mick Murphy. They do after all harbour an amusingly visceral hatred for him.
It may be of interest to others though that Murphy has been the only newly elected councillor in the area to make any significant waves since the election, through his role in uncovering the Gama affair. He was one of the people who did the spadework, getting in contact with the Turkish workers, getting translated leaflets to them and so on.
The others have been quiet enough so far, although King has at least been visible.
I am a relatively new member but Ive been following politics in Tallaght for some time. It is my considered opinion that Ferron would have made an excellant Councillor, certainly better than any of that bunch up there at the moment. I mean really, what on earth does that Warren one think she is tryin to achieve?????? And that Joe Nibble should have someone else co-opted instead of him - Give up before you get further behind Nibble!!!!! Ferron was robbed at the locals and believe you me we are the worse off for it. If Murphy spent as much time in Tallaght as he does in Turkey we might have a better Council for Tallaght.

What exactly do u mean by that? u make a statement and dont explain? Why should neville be replaced? I have been very impressed by nevilles work in the area?
All I meant is that it is nearly one year since the new council and nothing has been achieved to even talk about. Brendan Ferron was probably the most able candidate in the last elections, I bet if he had been elected we might see some real change by now. Most of the councillors for the whole Tallaght area do nothing but waffle and try to look like they are doing something worthwhile - with only one or two exceptions. What exactly impressed you about Joe Nibble???Originally Posted by perry

We need a name for this condition; it's increasingly common. I think it's analogous to the phenomenon whereby no one thinks he or she speaks with an accent, while everyone else obviously does.Originally Posted by Fatso
I'm proposing the designation politicopathy. A sufferer may be said to be a politicopath.
I further propose the following (non-exhaustive) diagnostic criteria.
- Lack of insight into own ideological formation and constitution.
- Disproportionate but superficial identification with solely rational discourse without exhibition of marked rational ability.
- Strident tone. Complete or partial absence of "indoors voice".
- Mild rash.
- Lack of empathy with sufferers of closely related disorders in the same spectrum (politicopathy with liberal manifestations, politicopathy with conservative manifestations, politicopathy with nationalist manifestations, politicopathy with pro-Gary Rhodes manifestations, etc.)
I invite descriptions of clinical experience of syndromically consistent signs and symptoms that may contribute to the refinement of this proposed classification.

perhaps a similar but more defined branch of Politicopathy:
PDD: Party Distress Disorder: Acute paranoia and irrational hatred of other parties with an intense feeling of serenity and calm and false sense of security with a particular party that you are a member of.
Parteloma: which can be either Malignant of Benign depending on the severity of party support and delusion of grandeur re said party.
