Well it opened today... 2 days after the Luas extension to Point Village. Great stuff

We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

Wow - great photos. I haven't seen Dublin in ~10 years - it's almost unrecognisable (at least from these angles). Were it not for the "barbers poles" or liberty hall (ugh), I wouldn't have known where it was.

Speaking of the Charles J. Haughey bridge idea, maybe we could construct a fitting memorial (a modern wonder) in honour of our recently departed Teashock?

The shovel is in honour of the digouts - er, I mean the construction boom, and the bag of euros is in honour of the money we now owe the IMF - er - I mean the Celtic Tiger (motto: go commit suicide).

We can borrow 500 billion to build the monument, it'll make us feel useful for 10 years, and we can worry about the hangover sometime in 2020.

It's a plan. go with it.

shows how dangerous and pathetic the cycle infrastructure at this bridge is
