If it turns out to be an Andrews/O'Callaghan ticket, it is a weak ticket.

Who's eligible to vote in the selection convention?

Anyone see pg19 of the Herald Today? David Andrews, son of the former Foreign Affairs Minster, was arrested for selling illegal copies of DVD's on Grafton Street.

    jim on your first query
    3 delegates from each cumann
    9 SEIC
    10 Rathmines
    10 pembroke
    87 votes here
    then ogra 3 Officers of board cdc 3womens committee 3 T.C.D. 3
    total 100 votes
Only one of OCallaghan /Andrews will be selected on the night. The others are far behind.Benson White and Keegan expected to be eliminated from counts 1 to 3.No. 2 candidate will be added.Reckon H.Q. knows who that is

Like to say what you think the first count results are going to be?

Are the delegates mandated for all the way down the ballot or is it once the 1st preference is done they can vote what ever way they choose.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. Each unit gets three delegates, one must be a woman, another must be a man, the third can be either.

On the question of gender equality among delegates does that not apply until after the current round of conventions? That was the case in Cork South central in October.
Btw what is the venue for the convention?

Agree cork hurler it didn't apply at the westmeath convention either. It still has to be enacted fully.
Jim I'll only give my speculation on what the the first count may be
    Benson 5
    White 10
    Keegan 20 or 21
    O Callaghan 32 ish
    Andrews 32ish
It will be neck and neck I believe that Bensons 2nd preference votes will in the greater part go to Andrews and Keegan and likewise with Whites at this point pushing Andrews out ahead and Keegan coming within 7 or 8 of O Callaghan.
What will be crucial is where Keegans 2s go that will decide if even 25% go to Andrews he will have it in the bag.But it will be extremely tight.
I believe (and this is open for the debate)that the add on will be between Hanafin or O Callaghan and will be solely based on poll performance in which Hanafin would come out on top.
However if there is a slight swing towards O Callaghan we will see him win at convention and Andrews automatically added in the weeks after.
Again this is my opinion and is open to debate. One thing is certain the contest at convention will be Andrews and O Callaghan with Keegans 2s having a vital role to play.
