Dublin South West 2007 crossreferenced with Census social class Data (Maps)

I've done maps of DSW 07 along with showing maps showing Social class distribution in 06. I've also crossreferenced the tallies with the census data...

I've spilt the social classes into Professionals/Employers/Managers and Other Non-Manual/Manual workers... self-employed (usually about 5% in the average DED) and Others (10 to 30% per DED, higher in 'established' and working class DEDs) are excluded..

    SOCIAL CLASS

    Legend

    <20% Lt Blue
    20-30% Dk Blue
    30-40% Green
    40-50% Dk Red
    >50% Lt Red

    Professionals/Employers/Managers

    Other Non-Manual/Manual workers

    Chas O'Connor 21%... 19%... 12%
    Pat Rabbitte 22%... 18%... 18%

    50% of voters lived in DEDs <25%, 37% in DEDs 25-50% and 13% >50%

I've noticed that Casualbelts spams a lot of maps etc onto this forum. Some are religious, some political. All pointless.

    I like them.

And they're not pointless: a bit of research into the socio-economic profile of Irish political constituencies is never pointless.

Casualbet's maps are a great help to anyone who wants to do that research.

They're not spam. I put them up occasionally to generate discussion.

And I'd like to thank you for you're time and effort as well - as a lurker who reads a lot of stuff but barely posts, just thought I should tell you they're not at all a waste, very interesting reading, thanks very much.

Seconded. It's a damn sight more interesting than the mixture of schoolyard mud-throwing and paranoid ranting that seems to make up the majority of p.ie these days.
