it will become an election issue to many in the ward.
I think that is a fair point and I have been supporting the Save St Luke's campaign to date.

Welcome to Tubridy09 - the campaign to elect Garrett Tubridy

Big opening there since ol' Michael got booted out on a protest vote; but
mostly the angry residents do vote FF. He's 33-
Pembroke-Rathmines has 7 sitting councillors. One of them is FF. It's probably the worst ward in the country for FF, so I don't know about angry residents mostly voting for FF in this area

And as for Dermot's 'suuport' of the campaign for St. Luke's- just had a look on his web-site and not one of the press releases going back to 2005 mention St. Lukes. Good campaign, Dermot?! Maybe it is 'time for change'.

Bobby I did not say that I had a personal campaign on the issue. Quite simply it would neither be appropriate or possible to have a personal campaign on everything. I said I supported the campaign organized by the Save St. Lukes Group. As you will know St. Lukes was in that part of the new ward which was then the Rathmines ward. The tradition in the Labour Group is that we support our colleagues in an area rather than going on runs on issues in their areas. That is why I acted in a supportive role rather than an initiating one on this issue. This took the form of attending meetings when they or the Save St. Luke's Group requested me, speaking in support of retention at a number of Council events and more recently (along with a number of others) initiating the listing of buildings on site for protection.

Now that St. Luke's is in the new ward for which I have been selected I have and will be looking at ways in which I can be more supportive. Hope that clarifies matters.
