    Fine Gael City Councillors

considering that most of the Fine Gael councillors were elected last june and are in their 1st term, how are they progressing?
anyone care to rate their performance?
i've met one or two and they seemed very capable and articulate.

Publicity is hard......only Enda is wanted by the press, which down the line may be a problem for those seeking office..........Vardakar...talked about but never heard of?

I think I expressed my opinion of Lucinda Creighton on other threads. Basically think she is hopeless.

I don't think the FG Lord Mayor is very effective (Byrne) ... also Cosgrave is hapless; don’t think the FG Cllr like her seen that she was conveniently absent for the Mayoral vote.

Breen, Gillen and Tormey are very good and competent councillors.
The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites

In fairness Leo isn't a Dublin City Councillor he sits on Fingal Co.Council representing the Castleknock ward.

Personally I think a lot of the newcomers have preformed well but have used very different approaches to the job. I have a lot of time for both Pascal Donoghue & Ann-Marie Martin whilst think Catherine Byrne is a great representative for all of the city. Some of the work by Cllrs in all parties are perhaps over shadowed however by their political ambitions.

Have to say Paschal Donohue and Anne-Marie Martin impress me. Paschal for his hard work and dedication, and Anne-Marie for her more, errr, obvious attributes.
"Elite - a small superior group; esp one that has a power out of proportion to its size." (Oxford English Dictionary)

The majority cannot therefore be the elite.

Well, Cosgrave isn't currently an FG councillor. And given her reaction to losing the whip could be long time before she is again. I think the Mayor has been an effective and hard working councillor for quite a while. I probably shouldn't give my opinion of some of the others.
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.
