You seem to think that I am his greatest supporter. I was only asking what about a Donnelly/Tubridy ticket given Cllr's comments that the result could be affected by the geographical base of the candidates. It was not intended as an attack on Jim or any other potential candidate. As Cllr says, we are only speculating here.

Anyway, moving along, does anyone know when are the conventions/selections happening for the parties?

Labour Selection is on in September. FG are agonising over their third candidate. Andrews seems to be supporting Donnelly. Greens - will it be Ryan or Clare or both - interesting times ahead.

I am pleased to announce the relaunch of my web site so anyone interested in Pembroke Rathmines even go sign in to: www.dermotlacey.ie

Based on what seems to be emerging I would see the seats going aa follows:

    FF Donnelly
    Edie Wynne
    Lab
    Paddy Mc Cartan
    Lab
Green/FF ( O'Callaghan) and Lab battle for third seat

Cllr I agree with you on most in your lat post.

Obviously you dont want to jinx yourself but I would say that you will be the first labour elected and while i thought quinn would comfortably beat Freehill I am not so sure about that. I think that will be extremely tight and the only question mark i would have is if Frehill can get into the pembroke ward enough to hold off quinn.

I also understood that Andrews was supporting little tubridy in order to keep it in the family so i wouldnt discount him.
I know i am a bit biased and dont have much love for the family affairs however i do feel little tubridy is very light politically and certainly doesnt have the touch his cousin has and thats not saying a lot. That said I wouldnt write him off yet but it is hard to see anyone other than big Jim beating Donnelly

    Hi Revery,

Writing here from Dingle - we really do live in a beautiful country -From what i can see Andrews main aim is to have Donnelly re-elected. Second aim is to keep O' Callaghan out and third if to have Tubridy do well enough to succeed Donnelly down the road. Al that helps the long term aim of retaing the family business - oops I mean seat.

I cannot for the life of me differentiate between myself, mary and oisin. All three have reasonable votes and profiles and come form different parts of the new ward. It is not modesty that stops me from predicting it is that I just can't work it out.

Does anybody know who are looking for the FG selection? Are they running three or two?

Paddy Mc Cartan tells me they are running three - don't think he is too pleased with that.

Yeah, they're running two women in the SEIC ... and three in Rath/Pem

    Re: Pembroke-Rathmines Local Election 2009

I have been chatting to a FF insider and he tells me that the Tubs is getting very anxious and fears he might not be put on the FF ticket apparently he has had a few tantrums lately .The story been that there is a fear that they would split the vote with 3 on the ticket.

It is believed that O Callaghan is hiring an experienced campaign manager to ensure he gets elected; wow should be interesting who he gets this time? He/she cannot be any worse than his last one.

This will be some battle if FF run the three and I can see blood on the streets of Rathmines.

Can I be the first to congratulate Cllr on topping the poll?
