That's what that was? All I saw was Eoghan Murphy's smiling face on a poster and couldn't strain my eyes to see the rest of it.....

I think they are already replaced with a FG advertising for a "non political" meeting featuring Lucinda Creighton, Alan Dukes and Gay Mitchell!!!!

These posters are clearly an abuse of the law restricting when election posters can be put up. If they were genuinely interested in advertising a public meeting there would be no need for the picture of the canditdate to take up 3/4 of the poster. If the posters are not taken down within a week they should be fined in the same way as an election candidate would be.

I agree - particularly given the total hypocrisy of FG at City Council level when they tried to stop all Political Postering.

In fairness to the Greens - unlike FG - they did not oppose allowing Political Postering.

FF haven't and won't be putting up posters like that, it is clearly breaking the spirit of the law.

Labour/FG are just littering the city. FG for what they are doing now and Humphreys/Lacey etc for those disgraceful posters during the Lisbon campaign

Ah Pearse Rranger for once give up your efforts to have a go at Kevin on every possible occasion. While in the end I did not use them I think there is a reasonable case for elected reps putting up posters during a Referendum advocating a particular stand.

There is a huge difference between that and putting up posters in the weeks leading up to an election pretending they are for Public Meetings when everyone knows it is about publicising the candidates.

There is also the simple fact that when the City Management where trying to ban all Political Posters FG supported Management and it was only a combination of Lab, SF and the more progessive elements of FF that managed to strike the present compromise providing for posters for legitimate protests and meetings etc. That FG is breaking the spirit of that compromise - even though they wanted to ban all posters in the first place - is especially galling.
