There are 3 people competing for the nomination. Just like the Labour person, not going to say their names until they're selected.
The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites

Any word on the Green selection. I thought it was to be last night.

How does the collapse of the PDs affect this ward ? Will John run? As an independent or with another party?

he was a bit non-commitall on this last night on Newstalk. I would have thought that he would make an ideal FG candidate for the South East Inner City ward.

I hear things are heating up in Pembroke Rathmines.

Freehill i doing most of the running in the area. She appears to be the most active or at least she is the most visible.
Quinn seems to have decided to leave it untill after Christmas to give it a big campaign.
Of course Cllr puts in a huge amount of work and wont have any difficulty. In fairness to the Labour Cllrs they know everything thats going on in the constituency and otherpartys can only envy their work rate.

Big Jim is out on the doors and getting a good reaction. I believe Andrews was out with Jim during the week and they got a good reaction. I never thought I would see Andrews support Jim but it just goes to show Politics is a funny old game! Speaking of funny I heard Andrews talking with Mat Cooper on the financial markets during the week and he actually sounded like he was well on top of the brief. Who would have thought that would have ever happened but fair play to him I suppose.
Little Tubridy is still upsetting people. The more he does the more he irritates people it seems.Donnelly seems to be motoring away and its hard to judge his impact. I would say its between Jim and Donnelly but its still early days yet and too close to call between the three ff men!

FG are poised for two and are putting in an effective campaign with good candidates and good geographic positioning and good literature. It is theirs to lose and i cant see them doing that.

The Greens are very silent and have not kicked in yet and they would need to if they want to get the 6th seat ahead of FF second.

Thanks for the nice comments revery. Still a lomg way to go with only the two FG cllrs assured of being returned and I reckon Michael Donnelly. After that i think we will get two ( who they will be I have not a clue) Though we are out and about all the time now. I do not see the Greens getting one here and think they will put in a big effort into the SEIC to get Ciaran fallon elected there.Last seat then would be between the third Lab or a seocnd Ff

I cannot see why you are surprised that Andrews was out with Jim O C or any other FF candidate . Andrews is the FF TD for the constituency and I am sure he will be out will all the Candidates.

Who are these good candidates? Paddy McCartan and Edie Wynne? I count one good candidate.

David Robbins apparently beat Clare Wheeler for the Green nomination.

I make no comment on the quality or otherwise of the candidates but these tow will hold two seats for FG in the Area - no doubt whatsoever about that. I presume the surprsie about Chris being out with Jim O C is that if he is elected JOC will be a threat to CA.
I uspetc as we get nearer the electtion Chris will be out more and more with Michael Donnelly that is if the cousin is not slected.
