Personally think if Collins/ Smith can get on the Hospital bandwagon they could swing a seat. Particularly if Byrne doesnt run as he scraps around their area too. Byrne will run though I d imagine. Moynihan will have to wait which might not please her.

Will Ardagh run again????? Will Upton run again????? Big questions. Assuming they do

Byrne/ Collins/ Snodaigh/ Mulcahy hard at it for last two seats. A lot will depend on how things are when the election is called. Labour got some vote in the locals though but they has a very good candidate spread.

Mary Upton will be running the next time. Her running mate will be Byrne or Michael Conaghan. Hopefully Michael Conaghan will be it as he hasn't lost in the last 4 generals elections unlike Eric. The people seem to trust Eric with local politics but not national politics. Rebecca will be waiting a while.

Before the Locals, I made some correct predictions on this very thread, which some posters were dismissing at the time. I'm doing the same again here with the candidates and the outcome. Please try not to make the same mistake again.

Equally, the Greens have 2000 votes, which wont go to FF anymore.

While I take your valid point, im still unsure about any coorolation between today and 2007. Furthermore, the rise in lefty votes has been most apparent in Dublin South Central. Thus, it will be between Mulcahy/Ardagh and Eric Byrne (relying on Collins/Smith/McDermott transfers)
There is nothing virtual about it. FF have no seats.

whats to stop pbp doing the same thing to labour that SF did in the last two generals. labour would have to get both there candidates ahead on first preferences to get them both in.

if gay mitchel runs FG would get two.

the last locals FF returned only one counciler yet two TD's at the generals. it would be short sighted and arogent to dismiss them.

SF dosn;t look good. but it was an outside chance when we got it there first so don;t know.

still think its up in the air.

Good assessment, By the way FG didn't do too well for a party with the wind behind them! Not saying they won't get a seat but the performance of their candidates was only ok!

FG are fine here, DSC in LEs is the most left wing constituency i know. In Ballyfermot /Inchicore last time the FF candidates were nowhere again. Not FG growth area and as i said, locals are not a real litmus test.

FG seat will be possibly the first elected along with a labour one unless FF recover.

yeah was surpriced at FG. especlilly FG fighting for the last seat in crumlin kimmage where they only ran one candidate. with the wind behind them thaught they'd be much safer than that. though if they only ran one in baller theyed probably have a seat there now.

maybe as admirer said its unusualy left wing.

or maybe its a dublin thing. labour at the trots did very well in dublin. FG did ok but very well out side it.
