Shocking. Does Frances have any mates in the FG hierarchy who could add her to the ticket? Could we see 3 FG candidates in Rathmines yet?

Frances seems only to have friends in the hierarchy, and few anywhere else!

Party members have deserted her due to complaints about her lack of work on the ground, and even lack of interest. Looks like new and young blood all round for FG with Sarah Belton and Conor Delaney selected for SEIC and Lucinda Creighton and Paddy McCartan in Pembroke. Should be interesting.

Now that the main players in South East are beginning to become clear and no doubt Frances will be added any predictions. In case I am accused of not making my own predictions here goes:

    SEIC Humphreys,
    Doolin
    Keegan.

Rathmines: Donnelly, Freehill, Fitzgerald and Ryan Meade
Pembroke: Andrews, Lacey and Wheeler. Though still have some idea that Laceys stand on charges togther with resilient FG/PD vote could see a different result

My understanding from sources is that the selection committee had recommended that only 2 run in Ratyhmines to ensure that they don't split the vote and end up losing the seat they have, though to be honest looking at the numbers from the last election I would have thought 2 seats is a realistic chance. It was a 4 seater last time, is it still?

Could Frances Fitzgerald be tempted into a run for Europe? She would have a lot of the social policy profile that could hurt Patricia McKenna, and also Liz O'Donnell. If John Bruton doesn't run and FG got someone else to run on the northside, it could work.
Dan Sullivan. I was back but we still couldn't all have a vote.

Frances will be a candidate in Rathmines and she will win.

cllr, where do you get that information? I agree that if Frances were to run she'd have no trouble holding that seat. Her local org may be blaming her for losing the Dáil seat in 2002, but really that's unfair, what with FG's general collapse. Which of them could have done any better?

One of Gillen or Wynne will probably keep the seat, but I really can't see this as a smart move for FG.

All I can say is that I have confirmation from the centre that she will be added. If Frances does not run FG will not win a seat and the result will be:

    Donnelly,Freehill,
    a PD and Ryan Meade.

Also I hear that the best thing that ever happened Freehill was the arrival of Quinn. She is verywhere these days.
