I think the big one we're all waiting for in D.S.E. is will Gormley halt this proposed ill planned development by Ministerial order to the City Manager. Will he make a statement on it?

    I doubt he'll make a statement

One would hope that the whole policy of incineration is up
    for review--------- not just Poolbeg.

He might just put his hand up and admit that the GP were scaremongering over the dangers of incinerators and that in fact they are a safer, more viable and ecologically sound alternative to landfill.

Going by Green standards in this government, Gormley will run a mile from making a decision that FF doesn't approve of.

Given that this must be the only thing he ever agreed with Michael McDowell about, it is hard to see how he can fail to veto it.

On the other hand M McD is no longer relevant.
There are times when you are simply required to be impolite. There are times when condescension is called for!

    Gormley is anti incineration
McD was only anti location in dublin south east/Poolbeg.

I think probably the biggest battle on this for John will be education.

"Green standards in this government"? After, what, 24 hours? That's an almost unbelievably silly phrase - sad, too, because it's clear you are simply talking out of bitterness.

We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when creating them

Yes - 24 hours in - I think it's definitely the right time to make a call on their track record in this government .

go on David --have a look its worth a look

it was written by the guy who was involved in exposing thee voting mess, which is also addressed.

I dont so much endorse as feel that people who comment on incineration should look into the cons.

I lived in Irishtown up to July 2006 and felt strongly that public money was spent in promoting this policy without a counter arguement being presented.

For instance one of the big pro incineration arguements originally was that we had to deal with our own waste---now it turns out the incinerator's toxic ash will need to be exported to Denmark

    Its worth a read.
