Not since the Red Wall Gang riots of the early 90s has the Cherry Orchard area seen such mayhem. According to locals, a Garda was run over by a stolen 4x4. Riot police called in.

There's probably no god. Now, stop worrying and enjoy your life.
Typical skangers.![]()
There are a lot of good people in Ballyfermot. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of skangers who ruin it for the good ones. Bang in the Joy for a few months and take away their social welfare.

Much more peaceful in semi rural Cheshire! That said, we had several dozen well behaved youngsters and teenagers calling at the door who were very polite, dressed for the occasion and grateful for the sweets on offer. All except four youngsters, who grabbed furiously at the sweet bowl on offer, tried to walk into my house and then called again 10 minutes later for more. Of course, I could see the father in the road, leaning out of his van with the advert for tree felling and the usual 0800 number on the side. Fukin P1keys. The only ones to be rude, obnoxious and greedy. Seems they start young.
Of course, nothing on the scale of Ballyfermot, of course. Never been there but it looks a shiithole.
A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject.
I used to live in Ballyfermot.
Now, there are some proper latchyco's in there, hard chaws, and ******************************************s on the 78 who never heard about the smoking ban. Labre Park.
It's probably one of those places where you have to be born there to settle there. But there is some serious community there, much more than some other allegedly more desirable Dublin postcodes; people know each other, look out for each other, have the banter in the shops or at the bus-stops outside the parade etc.
At the end of the day, people in Ballyfermot are just trying to get on with their lives. Just the same as rural Cheshire and everywhere else.
If Mountjoy being over crowded is the cause of the rise in anti-social behaviour we should bring back the birch for the scum. They won't be so keen on behaving in an anti-social manner after that!

Would it work?
Or just satisfy a need to inflict pain on others?
The joy of living in Rural Ireland for Hallowe'en.
