Saw this in news last night. Residents not happy about plans to build high walls which would block view of sea. But insurers won't pay out due to high payouts from last floods.
Residents say they were nor consulted about new walls set to go up and have alternative plans.
Questiion is there a way of protecting businesses while at same time protecting wonderful view of bay

There seems to be a bit of a rush to get these plans through. I can see this project running into difficulties

Why then are residents up in arms. this will be very big issue in area
once they dont come moaning for gubberment compensation when they get flooded again.

Much of the new mound would have a gradient of just 1/5 or 11 degrees of slope

The residents/ businesses have to live with it. However, there should be made to sign off on never coming back looking for compo if houses/ businesses are flooded.
Its to keep out the Vikings. Better late than never and you can't be too careful. We're sorry the planning process has been a tad drawn out,

What do the view campaigners want ? A glass sea wall?
