Dún Laoghaire: Richard Boyd Barrett v Ciaran Cuffe

    Fifth seat in Dún Laoghaire

I see richard Boyd Barrett is 500 votes ahead of Ciaran Cuffe on first preference votes in the Dún Laoghaire constituency ..... RTE think that Cuffe will get on on transfers ..... great performance though by Richie "the boy" Barrett

Hiding the fact he's in the SWP has done well for him, obviously.

If the Socialist Party don't make it and the SWP take a seat it will be a seismic shift in Trotskyite politics in Ireland.

I believe there are 1200 shinner votes. RBB should get more of these ?? Hard left votes.... but when quinn and the blueshirts are eliminated, we're probably looking at cuffe returned.

Many of those SF transfers will go to Cuffe, SF in DL isnt a hard left SF vote

SF in DL may not be a hard left vote, but RBB isn't really either. He is an SWP leader but he wasn't standing as one. Instead he was standing as that nice, well-spoken young man who was on the television opposing the war and who saved the seafront. He will not be as transfer repellant as you are assuming.
