Credit Where its Due To Socialists

With the week thats in it, how about a positive report about political harmony.

I was canvassed for the first time tonight by Clare Dalys team and i have to say the guy was much less angry than i thought he would be. In fact, he wasn't angry at all. He seemed very positive and politely talked about Clare's campaign. Even when i told him i was a pd canvasser he just yapped about how's the campaign going, as opposed to going on a stereotypical socialist rant about how the world is falling apart and if we'd only given socialism a real chance we would be free of the shackles of capitalism.

Although i have plenty of socialist friends in college i imagined people who go out canvassing for the party might be very confrontational to the likes of me, especially after hearing Clare on Vincent Browne a while back. I really thought that if i ever met her campaign it would not be a pretty sight but that guy made me feel like their is hope for irish politics. For that, my friends, you will get a preference.

Whats the point in electing a Socialist TD?. Think about it. I mean....what can a Socialist TD do differently to a socialist councillor. Im not nit picking, im just curious.

Ï am humbled. It takes a story about a reasonable and intelligent canvass by the Socialist Party (may the force be with you, Joe) to remind me that PD supporters are human too and deserving of humane treatment. For so long I have hated them with a fathomless contempt but now, despite Harney, I feel only pity. (But never for her, the lying s***).
