    "Sustained Gamble" in Dublin West

Councillor Felix Gallagher, Sinn Féin's candidate for the Dublin West constituency in the forthcoming Dáil election has said that he wasn't surprised by the news that there has been a sustained gamble developing on his chances of winning a seat on May 24th.

Speaking during a canvass of his constituency this afternoon he said "I'm not that surprised that the odds on my chances of winning a seat have plummeted in recent days. Apparently Boylesports are quoting me at 7/2 after there was what they call a 'sustained gamble'. I believe there were some outstanding double figure prices available last week with one firm quoting me at 40/1!"

"We're getting an extremely positive response on the doorsteps. There is a clear appetite for change. The people of West Dublin know that Sinn Féin will be a power block in the next Dáil. They understand that Joe Higgins has had a minimal impact on the decision making process as a lone voice in Leinster voice. We're providing a strong, credible alternative and it's been warmly received. It really is all to play for."

    Felix,

Stop feckin' using this site as a party political broadcasting tool. Most people on this site are hacks or journo's and are deep rooted in their political beliefs/affiliations.

Also take down your posters on the dual carraigeway part of the Navan Road. That's not allowed under the litter act and the RSA have said they are a threat to public road safety.

Hilarious. Anyway, he's still 7-1 on Paddy Power and running a distant fifth in a three seat constituency with Lenihan, Higgins, Vardarkar and Burton all being offered as odds-on.

So by the same logic, is Felix having a minimal impact as a lone SF member on Fingal CC?

I presume this power block will be as the junior partner in a FF government!

What was it Rabbitte said - Joe Higgins was having a bigger impact than all five Sinn Fein TD's put together!

You Shinners can't buy this election, even with all the profiteering rackets you've got going in Dublin West.

The Sinn Fein campaign is all smoke and mirrors, no leftwing policies or beliefs, just a lot of blather about 'establishment parties'.Everyone sees through you and your abject desperation to get into govt.

And the people of Dublin West only have to compare Gerry Adams, with his house in Greencastle, to Joe Higgins who ACTUALLY lives on the average industrial wage, to see the kind of Bullsh1tters you really are.

Not a hope in hell of an SF seat there. Sorry, but it's true!
