Joan Collins - independent socialist, Dublin South Central

Joan Collin's campaign is now up and running. We welcome particiaption and support.

Joan and the Community & Workers Action Group (CWAG) are also involved in the campaign to keep childrens' hospital services in Crumlin Hospital. They organised a protest at the hospital last Saturday, which attracted about 150 people - including staff from the hospital.

It was decided at that protest to hold another protest - against the run-down and closure of the hospital - this coming Thursday May 3 at 15.15 at the hospital entrance. All welcome.

There is a rumor that Joan Collins and the CWAG have decided who should be co-opted onto her seat on Dublin City Council if she wins a seat in the Dail. This is not true. No decision has been made about who might be co-opted. Joan and the CWAG will make that decision after the general election.

    From the website

Sinn Fein, god help it, is in its own ‘race to the bottom’ as members flail about desperately for any core principle that might indicate the group has a firm line on anything other that aspiring to office. The party now seems determined to prove valid the old leftwing jibe: that once deprived of guns, Irish republicans are drawn ineluctibly towards opportunism.

Bye, bye transfer, nice try SWP

A bit of a change of career for Alexis. I know she flirted with UKIP for a while but I would never have had her down as a socialist!

I will tell you who will be the Councillor after the General Election, JOAN COLLINS.

She has not a hope of a seat so get over it.

    Question 'iceman'

Who would you prefer to see win a seat - Joan Collins or FF, FG, Lab, PD, GP?

Just curious Brendan, as to what EXACTLY has been agreed between CWAG and PBP - aka SWP's Brid Smith?

Their leaflets make some general pronoucements, but it would be interesting as to what exactly they have agreed vis-a-vis their election pact.

Wonder how much Paddy Power would give me on Brid replacing her if joan makes the Dail!
