    Bobby Sands Road, Dublin 4?

Amazing proposal this, seemingly supported by Mary - Lou.....are they taking the mick or what?.....

It shows why SF/IRA are unacceptable as partners in government....they really dont understand.........

To even think for a moment that the owners of €5million homes would agree to this folly............

Perhaps Cushlawn in tallaght could be renamed bobbylawn or sands lawn, by a large population of sean crowe supporters?, failing that I doubt this is a runner.........got a spot in the star tho........

It's more tongue in cheek than anything else. Any cumann can put any motion to the Ard Fheis so we often end up with a couple of ones from left-field. I'd love to see it happen and we're hardly likely to lose votes in the area on the back of it are we?

A link, a reference, some supporting material perhaps? Not all of us receive copies of the Sinn Féin Árd Fheis agenda...fortunately.

why must it be tongue in cheek. dont be ashamed of people such as bobby sands my brother. never let them make u think in their own selfish, smug manner. hopeful yes, tongue in cheek - no.

if they have their way, places in d4 will be forever named prince of wales terrace and the like. how perverse is this? remain proud and true to the memory of one of our great patriots.

Are you a member of the DUP? Who the hell are SF/IRA?

Why? Would the resale value plummet? Or would they object to a republican martyr constantly reminding them of their west-britishness?

At least you wear your contemptuous elitism on your sleeve.

It's Merrion Road, the one the Brit embassy is based on.

The reason it's tongue in cheek is that such a proposal would need the backing of the City Council (Unlikely) and a majority of the residents of Merrion Road (Go on, guess how unlikely).

We should be seeking to republicanise street and estate names, but I don't think anyone believes this would succeed, no harm in trying though.

The British Embassy in Iran is on Bobby Sand's street, it shame that we wouldn't re-name Merrion Road. Not Bobby Sands but maybe Robert Emmet or Roger Casement....

Wasn't the Iranian government planning on re-naming Bobby Sands street, seem to remember a thread about it last year.

And why should e be seeking to Republicanise street and estate names?
And I presume by Republicanise, you mean Republicans that agree with SF's political agenda?
