    PDs in Dublin South Central

I heard today (well-placed source) that the PDs are hoping to run the Indo journalist David Quinn in Dublin SOuth Central. He certainlyhas a profile and would be well-liked by a certain poprtion of people. COuldn't see him winning though.

Don't think he is the right candidate to capture liberal voters.

They'd have to be very 'liberal' voters! ...the type of voter who votes at random.

I agree completly. Whether or not one agrees with Quinn's politics he would be a divisive candidate.

Don't really think the PDs would have much of a chance in DSC anyway.

David is a genuine conservative and shares a lot with classical liberals. He's very much pro-free markets and a free private life, except where children and embryos are involved. To the extent that he is politically incorrect he will upset a particular wing of the PDs, but there are plenty of conservatives out there too who would be willing to support him. I think he's a good candidate.

Its Frank McNamara of Late Late show fame. Doesn't appear to know much except that there should be more music lessons for kids
