    Donegal Euro Election Tallies

From Inishowen (P MacLochlainn's turf) according to highland radio:

Pat "The Cope" Gallagher (FF) on top, followed by Pádraig MacLochlainn (PSF), Marian Harkin MEP (Ind), Declan Ganley (Libertas) , and Jim Higgins MEP (FG)

I certainly expected MacLochlainn to top it in Inishowen. I think he's on top for county council and town council seats. It's extremely early/difficult to say who will be in or out on the back of the Euro tallies.

Newstalk says Ganely polling very well in Donegal as is the Cope! Good news fopr Ganley who will do well elsewhere - same couldnt be said for Cope! Cope needed to be far ahead in Donegal!

Elsewhere on this forum it's saying the FF vote has collapsed in the south of the constituency. Ganley's doing well in Galway, and you say he's doing well in the north too. Perhaps he'll do something.

at then end of the day it was the donegal tallies that started the whole chain of a fiasco that was the weekend count. word on the ground in castlebar was that the whole controversy surfaced due to poor tallying by ganley supporters in dnegal giving him a lot more votes than he actually got there with pat the cope and fiachra being the beneficiary there.
Gnaley had amatuers who had no political experience tallying for him and this showed.
On the other hand having talked to fiachra o luain and despite now agreeing with his policies for the large part i do feel that this man has a lot to offer and will be a voice in the future. Unfortunately due to his views/ beliefs i do not feel he will get the just rewards for his talents

Great to see SF second in Donegal. Surely a good augury for the Dail ?

There were only 3 Donegal-based candidates in that election -
MacLochlainn lost to the FFer, but beat the guy targetting the hippie vote.
