Ireland interests are best secured within a more dynamic EU. Vote YES to Lisbon.

I would hope that Dinny Mc Ginley would run again. I haven't heard anything that would suggest he wouldn't. Of course Doherty will do ok but it will come down to transfers in the end as he will be up against high profile politicians with a long service behind them. It will be an interesting constituency to watch in 2007, but alas, I dont think Piaras will take it.

It would be a fantastic day for the people of Donegal and Ireland to see both Pearse become a T.D. in Donegal South West and for Padraig to be elected for Donegal North East in the next general election.

No I just don't think the transfers are there. They may squeeze out McDaid and eat up some of the IFF votes but I think at most Pearse might take a seat but I'm not convinced

Having three outgoing TDs on the FF ticket in Donegal North East at the next election will surely open the door to either a Fine Gael or a Sinn Fein seat next time out.

Paddy Harte is starting to get a bit of coverage outside of his Letterkenny bailiwick and will put a spanner in the works of Senator McHugh especially in the Letterkenny area, however FG dont have an indigenous Inishowen candidate this time around ( Cllr Bernard McGuinness from Culdaff outpolled the Letterkenny based candidate last time out) so any floating anti-government votes in the area may centre on Sinn Feins Padraig McLaughlin from Buncrana.

McLaughlins difficulty is that there isn't more than one quota in the Inishowen electoral area and most of that will remain with Celia Keaveny(FF) so he has to poll extremely well around the rest of the constituency. With SF councillors now in all parts of the constituency he should have the organisation there to do it but the key thing for him will be the level of positive national exposure SF can create for themselves around the return of Stormont and developments in policing.

Padraig got plenty of good exposure over the last year as Mayor of Buncrana but wont have that role in the run-in to an election. If SF can get new voters to vote politically rather than geographically around the rest of the constituency McLaughlin should make it.

 Definitely worth a €50 with Sean Graham.

They are likely to win in NE but not SW.

Future T. I think they have a better chance in SW, but if McDaid decides to stand in NE then they have good chance of taking Blaney's seat. If McDaid does not stand, Blaney will survive, SF are too far off a quota and unless they are ahead of Blaney there is no one that they will get a significant transfer from. In Donegal SW I think that SF will take the FG seat, FG have made a hash of it and should have McGinley standing, Slowey has no chance, and FG are having trouble getting anyone of any significance to stand along with him.
