Doherty to win seat in Donegal South West?

Pearse Doherty was selected as the SF candidate for the GE in Donegal SW on Sunday last. Must definitely be one of the partys best chances of a gain in the GE. Excellent candidate and councillor, if I do say so myself.

He's definitely got momentum behind him - must have a very good chance even given the difficulties faced in contesting a three seater.

    About 18,000

Apparently he got enough votes in Galway that had he been standing in a general election he would have got elected well over the quota
The crown above the red hand is that of the O'Neill rulers of Ulster---not the Saxe-coborg gotha usurpers crown

Ireland interests are best secured within a more dynamic EU. Vote YES to Lisbon.

    Are you sure??

18,000 evenly distributed between NE & SW would give SF a quota in both constituencies.

Tsk, Tsk! You are always thinking of the one thing FutureTaoiseach!

And when you are not thinking of that (immigration, that is) all you can think of is good looking men!

Is he cute enough for you to be tempted away from your beloved PD's if you were in Donegal, Future?

    Congratulations to him.

I understand he's becoming something of a gay icon.
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.
