In an ideal world people would not need drugs, in an ideal world Merle, but this world is far from ideal and dealing with the reality of it is the only way, people have and will take drugs, the vast majority will never have a problem with them, a minority as always will have problems and if it was not drugs it would be alcohol, prescribed medicines or gambling.

The hypocrisy of having laws that will never work and cost a fortune to try to make it look like there is something being done about drug use is primitive to say the least.

If enough people are prepared to cultivate and accept fines then the authorities will soon realise that it cant be stopped.

Id expect that the government would love this. They would just keep accepting the fines into their coffers and do nothing to change the law.

The cost of detecting the plants and prosecuting the growers will far outweigh any income from fines.
They will soon realise this and ammend policy accordingly as they have in the UK where now anyone caught with a small amount either recieves a caution or the cannabis just taken of them.

While I agree broadly with what you say here merle it is more likely in my experience that rather growers selling off excess in a capitalist fashion that they would form a small collective with their friends and so removing more people from the grasp of capitalist shark dealers.

People that are already using dealers are already running the risk of criminalising themselves.
Better to be criminalised for having a plant than for funding a lavish lifestyle for those that sell muck and care little for who they sell to.

I have been keeping a close on the marijuana legalization bill in the California Assembly. Oh how I wish we had such reasonable debates in this Country.

Only one thing matters: live a good, happy life. Do your heart's bidding, even when it leads you on paths that timid souls would avoid. Even when life is a torment, don't let it harden you.
