Just said that cannabis does way less harm to the countries than the bankers did. Was in response to a newspaper piece about a cannabis seizure they were talking about.
Noone else responded. I text in to ask him to have a debate on prohibition and legalisation.![]()

I've not read the thread so I'm waging in here blind.
I'll just add that one of the reasons cannibis is kept illegal and tobacco isn't is down to its production. You can grow cannibis anywhere - not good for big business.
Browne's show will be up on their website tomorrow - http://www.tv3.ie/nightlynewswithvincentbrowne. He's been critical of cannibis being outlawed for a long time as far as I know.
Indeed. Brown has suggested decriminalizing all drugs .
From what I have gathered, in order to grow cannabis here you need at least a greenhouse and possibly heated. It will not grow outside in the summers we have, that is if it is to be of any worthwhile quality whatsoever, so it seems that it does require a climate like tobacco or close to it.
Going by what is discovered by customs and Garda it all seems to come from outside the country. tbh I really do not care, what concerns me is the ridiculous cost this prohibition is costing us, the taxpayer. We have covered this quite a lot in the thread and it runs into hundreds of million euros!
This another sample I just found that I feel is related:
"More than 40 prison officers have been taken on to staff 550 extra jail spaces despite a recruitment embargo, it was revealed today.
Justice Minister Dermot Ahern also insisted his officials were pushing ahead with plans for a new jail on the controversial Thornton Hall site in north Dublin."
The Netherlands has eight prisons empty and is now taking prisoners from neighbouring countries as a business exercise rather than closing their prisons and letting staff go. Practical people the Dutch.
