Pointless action by the Gardai, clamping down on Cannabis is like cutting head off the hydra. Many more domestic grow ops will spring up as demand is high and cultivation is easy.

But in official Irelands eyes, that of the end of year Garda reports, local drug task forces and endless cribbing from the likes of Grainne Kenny, this will be presented as a success. Meanwhile people will continue to get stoned.

Are you joking? What loss of life? Cannabis and Sex is basically all Amsterdam has to offer. I don't remember significant reports of loss of life there due to legalisation of cannabis. Could you direct me to a few?
Imagine the variety of tourists we would have in Dublin if this was legalised. It wouldn't just be drunk English tourists over for stag nights and starting fights.

Today on the news I hear 500,000 worth of herbal cannabis caught.

Also 2 million worth of resin was found in a van.

One of the guys under 25 years of age who was taking part in the import of these goods is an accountant in a reputable estate agents in Dublin. This just shows the calibur of some of the people willing to risk themselves and affiliate themselves with the wrong people to get this product into the country. I feel for this accountant.

The days of cannabis illegality are numbered. It is my mission to plough down any toolbag who thinks it should still be illlegal. I will plough through and cut you in half.

Screw this country and screw the ideals of the 'old gard'. It is time we developed as a nation and moved on from this pro-hibition.

Think of the amount of money involved here. Just remember this money has gone into the hands of some criminal gang already in some other country. I dont drink more than a couple of times a year because cannabis is better and I feel much healthier for it.

I wonder if you added up all the money budgeted for 'de war on drugs in which we have no share of the profit' and all the Garda and court time together over the years would it cover the cost of NAMA?
