    Ireland at the heart of Europe

    IFA pushes case for 'yes' vote in Lisbon referendum

    IFA pushes case for 'yes' vote in Lisbon referendum - National News, Breaking News - Independent.ie

    I heard them (IFA) saying that we need to be at the heart of Europe. When was Ireland ever at the heart of Europe. We a badly run country at the periphery. I don't think that we have ever been imprtant to Europe, in the same way that Germany, France or th U.K. are.
    So have we ever been at the heart of Europe or is this just spin to make us feel good about ourselves or just more crap from FF????

    We are about the size of a heart in comparison to the thing as a whole, maybe?

    More the size of a haemorrhoid. And if we balls up the Lisbon 2 vote, we will be about as welcome as a haemorrhoid.

    This is more of it ... more of the ballsology and scaremongering coming out of some Yes folk for weeks now;

    The association says full EU membership is vital

    Wtf are they trying to allege ... that we won't be full members of the EU if we vote No to Lisbon again? that we will not be allowed to be full members? that we'll be an Associate Member like Turkey?

    Comments like that are most unhelpful, simply untrue and rubbish

    Then again, we've already had stuff coming out of Brendan Halligan of the Group known as Ireland for Europe such as "... one view is that the way will have been opened for an end to our Membership of the European Union, probably resulting in Membership of the European Economic Area, to which Norway and Iceland belong"

    More codswallop

    Should be worth consideration for a plum post and a plush office in Brussels for someone methinks. The IFA elites should ballot their 85,000 members instead of taking this important decision like some Politburo in the Kremlin.
