    Thanks for that, oceanclub. It was very revealing.

    Note that Eamon Gilmore, like John Gormley, used to have a grasp of the scientific issues here. Nine years ago he was calling for an independent study on the health effects of fluoridation. He told the Irish Times (see here):
    When fluoride was first introduced, a commitment was made by the Department of Health to undertake studies on possible health implications. However, none were ever undertaken and concerns now being expressed by members of the public should not be ignored.
    Needless to say, such health studies have never been carried out.

    Of course oceanclub will not be embarrassed. S/he can't even spell "embarrassing", I noticed, even though s/he calls her/himself "a writer".
