Being made "an example of" does not imply a "witch-hunt". It's making him accountable to the taxpayer.

Now if I had said "lets look for him with our pitchforks"...

    Big difference.

It's gas seeing this dogged Fianna Fáil apparatchik Hal all over this thread like a rash.
Nice bit of forelock tugging Hal.. these people should respect their betters.. sure if FF ministers were throwing around money like snuff at a wake, they must have been doing it for the sake of Ireland..

The limos advertised on the Cartel site, do not appear to have bars or any of that type of carry on in them either. In other words there should be little or no add ons to the price.

    1. The 8 hour rate is simply the hourly rate of 40.00 stg x 8. The Minister would have had the car available to him at all hours of the day, not just for 8 hours, 12 to 16 hours would be more likely. Giving us a rate for the minister of 480.00 to 640.00 stg. Per day + petrol + VAT @ a factor of 1.5 for Euro. Giving us a possible 1104.00 Euro per day + petrol.
You are now down to about 200.00 odd Euro per day to be accounted for.

    2. Your quote makes no mention of what level of car or service is expected.

On a previous post you have told us the quote was for an "embassy style" car, but as we now know, your word + a hill of beans, is worth a hill of beans.

There is clearly nothing in this, but do work away the numbskulls.

If anything, as a return customer, the Minister should have been given a large discount.

Even if he had the limo on call for 24-hours - and if he did that's another scandal - the figures don't add up.

Had a phone call before 1.00 pm from another limo hire company in London (Ealing, also) quoting me £100 for pick-up at Heathrow and £45 per hour after that. It's a Lincoln that will accommodate eight passengers. Eight hours or over gets a 10% discount. VAT not included.

There's a bad smell coming from these 'expenses' claimed by John Boy.
