No it wasnt made a republic then, not sure if the idea of a republic even existed
we might of been a banana republic, im surprised thought nearly every political active person would know when Ireland first became a republic

Ireland officially became a republic in the eyes of the world in 1948. So please enlighten us if we are wrong.
