    It never was properly. Ireland is still under occupation. Only through the brave leadership of Ruairí Ó Brádaigh can it properly be declared.

    No it wasnt made a republic then, not sure if the idea of a republic even existed

    we might of been a banana republic, im surprised thought nearly every political active person would know when Ireland first became a republic
