    A question for Alan Dukes.

    Hello Alan.
I hope that you have now settled into your position on the Board of Anglo-Irish Bank.
I understand that there are a number of outstanding loans made to directors and staff both retired and serving.
What efforts have been made to recover these loans?
Has any recourse been made to the courts to recover money?
    If not why not?

I am not a fan of Dukes, but in fairness to him he has publicly raised this issue and his concern at the delay in proceeding with the various investigations into Anglo Irish.

Anglo probe team warns sift of bank 'cannot be rushed'

I really don't understand why this is taking so long. As a citizen and tax payer it is unacceptable that NAMA is being rushed and railroaded through this Sept while these investigations drag on forever. I am not asking for procedures and due legal process to be over ridden, but how could it take 18 months (based on this article) for this investigation to be completed. Its mad stuff!!

    Add to that:-
Alan: will you be advising the government/future government to introduce legislation to allow class action suits to be taken.
Alan: Why, if my shares in Anglo are defunct/gone/worthless did you send me an expensive piece of crap about the AGM? Like I now give a flying f*ck about the AGM!

    Here is 2 questions

    1. What fees do you earn
    2. Why have you 1,700 staff - costing even at a basic €50,000 a year on average €85 million per annum (do they all continue to repay their loans !! )

    Dear birthday

I'm picking up a sweet wage in a company that's totally ********************ed so nothing I do will ever make a blind bit of difference, and as is policy, I can never be held responsible.

He writes about Anglo in the Farmers Journal. This weeks instalment promises to be good
"Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest." Mark Twain

“When a government is dependent upon bankers for money, they and not the leaders of the government control the situation, since the hand that gives is above the hand that takes. Money has no motherland; financiers are without patriotism and without decency; their sole object is gain.” Napoléon Bonaparte

Has anyone considered taking action against the auditors of Aglo-Irish bank that consistently missed the hidden €100 million loan each year. How come this was not noticed in the following year?
Even if people do not actually own Anglo shares, if they have a pension fund that invested in Anglo shares is there way that they can compel or pressurise the pension fund to take action against the firm that audited and signed off on Anglo's accounts?

Not wanting to mention the auditing firm by name just in case it might, ahem, bring into question standards amongst Irish accountancy firms.

I understand that Anglo are planning to 'downsize' by 400 but that the IBOA and Jack O'Connor are resisting.

Again, we're left taking on our own, what should be a class action!
