better to just label it all as anti-semitism... just to be on the safe side

    Eh, no...
There is a difference, and anyone with a minimal level of intelligence should be able to make the distinction.

No better man than Michael D! When in the name of god is Labour going to get the sense to run him for president of our little republic?

But only on a technicality. If you don't like Jewish people then by default you don't like the Israeli government. That shouldn't have to be stated!

Yes he is.Was his opponent singularly inept, or just not used to defending his viewpoint?

Perhaps, in the USA, he just bangs on about nasty anti semites and he's home and hosed before Israeli policy even gets a mention.

True. But if those who disagree with the Israeli government while having nothing against Jewish people in generally stand silently by while others use debates on Israel to start ranting about "The Jews" then they can't really complain about being put in the same bracket as the antisemites.

It speaks volumes about the calibre of politicians in this part of the world that y'all are getting so excited about this performance. Mr. Higgins is doing his job, nothing more. Is it the fact that he can speak relatively articulately for more than three minutes without repeating himself that has y'all throwing your knickers at the stage?

Also, Mr. Klein is right, it is embarrassingly parochial and underhanded of him to interpret this criticism of Robinson as as "indictment of Ireland".
