McCabe killers to be released

Context? Precicly what type of context do you need for an armed robber to pump a garda sitting in a car full of bullets to be anything but cowardly murder?

Almost as bad the the 'context' that leads the IRA to putting bullets in the back of a woman's head. Screw your context. Murder is murder. If you haven't the moral compass to be able tell you right from wrong its your own problem. But the majority of Irish people find the IRA disgusting and the scum of the earth. And before you have a fit and start pointing to 'context' the same applies to the UVF, UFF, INLA, UDA et al.


Whist up with your context and lets call a spade spade. The IRA murdered, maimed and brutalised men, women and children and none of your whataboutery argument excuses that in any way, shape or form. They did so, purely on the basis of overthrowing the decisions made by the people and installing themselves as the Government of the Republic - a claim they still make, and a claim supported by SF. The decisions of the people mean nothing to SF or the IRA until that claim is rejected and withdrawn.

and you accuse me of having a fit. the IRA didn't appear out of tin air. if people didn't support it it would never have existed if it was never made illigal it wouldn't have to resort to robberies to raise funds. if you find the actions of the IRA or IRA type organisations so offencive then get the government to stand up for its people or if there not prepared to do that then get out of the way and let people who are prepared at it. because by the looks of the fingers in ears attitude here of people who refuse to see context then as i said it's pradictable were going to see it again.

Is there another reason why Martin Ferris will not personaly condemn the killing especially when Sinn Fein has condemned it. Could there have been a bit of nasty history between him and Garda McCabe?

A more likely scenario is that the history between Ferris and Garda McCabe's killers makes him incapable or unwilling to condemn their actions.
It appears to be a family failing, his daughter's unwillingness to condemn McCabe's killers probably lost her the chance of being elected an MEP at the recent European Elections..
