Actually Ireland's legal system, like it or not,is based upon the principles of seperation of power, orginating from 18th century/French revolution.Furthermore to state the that law can't be taken seriously implies paranoia.

The bottom line here is that Thomas Cook are bastards and the staff are stupid, reminds me of 2001 school protests because the teachers went on strike, nobody gave a ******************** about the teachers, people just used it as an excuse for a day off.Cue to SF and SWP banners.I'm def no fan of FF but Baldur is being given a hard time, based on his party affiliations. This is an issue of fat tracksuit clad travel agents moaning about losing their jobs.Listen love, don't work for Thomas Cook in the first place!!

This is not true Cael - Thomas Cook have made a profit from Ireland - what has happened is that more Irish customers are booking their holidays on-line rather than going through the offices. T. Cook are now banking that the people using the internet will offset the business lost through the offices - while increasing their profits.

A bit pointless if the employer has packed up and gone away - don't you think?

What is achieved through a sit in that wouldn't be achieved through a picket? In order to pack up, somebody has to do the packing. If the aim is to prevent that then surely a picket is just as effective?

I would consider in volunteering to help them back up. Solidarity for Thomas Cook.

You haven't noticed how companies are hiring private security to carry out their dirty work -

If these workers weren't inside occupying these offices then they company would ahve packed up lock-stock and two smoking barrels and be telling the workers to go whistle.

And just how will you display this solidarity? By going on a package holiday to Majorca?

If they get arrested, they will have won the PR game, and the PR game is at least half the battle.
