    Breaking The Law

It is everyones Democratic right to have a peaceful public meeting.
Or has that been taken also?

I have spent a lot of time on this Thread, thank you those that Repd me, in the time we have spent debating this matter it coild have been sorted out. Blame ICTU, THOMAS COOK and MARY COUGHLAN.
    Shame on them.

Now what happens tomorrow, nobody knows. I said hours ago that it could be nasty.
    Correli
Your opinion was that it was all over when the Judgement was made for tomorrow.
Do you live in the real world? This could end up in riots. I gaurantee that the Gardai are already planning counter measures.

This was handled wrong by the experts, these people are not experts. Dammit I could have walked in there and negotiated a settlement.

Explain how and whom broke the law. The law isnt about what is right or wrong, its about what we agree to what the law is. If you want to change the law, then you have to wait in line like everyone else.

The is a blatant example of corporate greed wanting to dump workers on the scrap heap so they can increase profits even further.
    Its in there right to.

The difference is that laws that are very significant are not being applied to others in society. Billions walked all over the place in anglo, INBS and IL&P recently. It was very clearly illegal in several ways. Nothing did or will happen.
These people will be sitting at home next week not working, some will not be able to pay a morgage. The banks will not leave them "rolling over interest" for two years as they do for their more favoured customers. This is unequal also.

The law and economics are not being applied equally in this country. A legal system that is not used equally is utterly useless.

Fine then, if I am invited into someones home but refuse to leave. That is illegal.

You obviously dont know what economics is. You dont "apply economics". Economics just is. The banks made billions because you let them. Ye people drank from the same trough of corruption, you cant complain just because you go less of it.

    Up the Workers

There was a great turnout from Sinn Fein, Socialist Party and the SWP/PBP.

Also some Labour, WSM and I think eirigi present.

I have edited your post. Please refrain from requesting posters to gather in order to prevent the Gardai going about their lawful duty. That is what it looked like, intentionally or not.

I'd echo the sentiments of JollyRedGiant and Cael. What Thomas Cook are doing is sickening.

Stop and look at what you are writing

With due respect to all Posters. This Thread is about 45 people who said "NO".
The consequences of that could be staggering, but not in the damn court.
    On the streets of Dublin.
We failed these people, now what happens will happen.

The issue is actually about 45 people who are demanding 4 times the statutary redundancy terms but are being offered 2.5 times.
They really are having a laugh...
