Lenihan says bankers MIGHT go to jail

Just heard this on Today FM, cant find a link anywhere. Can somebody post a link if possible?

Interesting that these comments were made on the day that the heat was turned up on FF by the hassle the Cowen got from the farmers.

I did not know that FF can decide who goes to jail. From what I can see they can decide who does not go to jail.

I've devised a new formula, call it digouts law :

The amount of lip service from FF is directly proportional to the amount of protest delivered by the citizens.

Start protesting folks and test the theory.

I heard it on NewsTalk too and they have a wee article on it. Doesn't say much:

Finance Minister hints jail terms likely in Anglo probe

The Finance Minister's hinted there may yet be jail sentences for those involved in the downfall of Anglo Irish Bank.

The director of corporate enforcement - backed up by gardai are investigating a number of irregularities at the bank
including multi million euro loans to directors.

Brian Lenihan said he's concerned about the delays in investigating the financial scandals at the bank.

But said its not correct to assume that nobody will go to jail once the investigation is complete.

You can't go to jail for white collar crime. There were no criminal prosecutions for the Fyffes insider dealing case.

He may as well have said the bankers might not go to jail. Its the same difference. I reckon not as much as a court case will come from this.
