These things need to happen but there's no point in creating a political party over it, however the fact that you want to shows how crucial it is that these cuts are made decisively.

The cuts need to happen now and pressure must be put on the government to maybe go even further in some areas with cuts. I know many would be unhappy with a bypass of the unions however they're a vested interest and I think we can all agree the if Tom Parlon and the CFI were going for talks in gov buildings them we'd all be very angry about it.

I wouldn't say bypass the unions totally but they can't be allowed to have too much influence. Over the next few months interest groups will submit their ideas to the government and Lenny will make his decision taking everything into account. The unions shouldn't get special treatment in having their say.

I'll join. I don't trust the realignment that's coming after the election. Once the Greens are gone, neither Labour/FG or Sinn Féin/FF will break the unaffordable patronage state.

Of course they won't. That's the whole idea.

The Recovery Party would have to hold the balance of power between FF and FG, and demand full implementation as their price for support. There would be no point in entering Government on the 'bit of policy here and there' that the Greens did.

I imagine that both FF and FG would welcome the opportunity, as they could blame the Recovery Party for putting a gun to their heads.

    The best course of action:

    Move to the country.
    Grow vegetables.
Offer to shovel $h1t for meat.
    Stay well.
    Learn basic health care.
Buy a shotgun. Learn how to use it.
If there is a future, it will be Green.
