Mansion House Evacuated in 25-year-old Bomb Scare

The Mansion House, official residence of the Lord Mayor of Dublin, has this morning been evacuated as the Army Bomb Squad moved in.
A telephone warning received at around 8am indicated that a bomb, planted by the UVF in advance of the 1981 Sinn Féin Árd Fheis, which had never been found and never detonated, is still on the premises. Gardaí have evacuated the building and its courtyards for the duration of the search.

I cycled past the bomb squad at the back of the Mansion House about 11am today - they didn't seem to be getting themselves too worked up over this threat.
