How should opposition approach Bord Snip report?

The Bord Snip report will be released later today. Now there is already a thread on the report itself so i'd like to discuss here how the opposition should tackle it.

The publication of a comprehensive "menu" of cuts means there is little wriggle-room for popular stances while at the same time maintaining some pretence of credibility.

The opposition may, like the government, come under pressure from some quarters to state what exactly they are for and against.

What are posters thoughts on opposition strategy and tactics from here on in to the budget?

They should lay the blame for everything at the door of ahern and his sidekick Clowen. There would be no need for this if they had run the country in a proper manner over the last 12 years.

The opposition should launch a blistering attack on the legacy of ahern, who many in FF regarded as the best taoiseach ever.

    The truth is now out.

Well they need a going forwards strategy with a looking backwards commentary

    - Going forwards

Yes they probably have to accept the Snips ... or else come up with something very credible of their own

    - Looking backwards commentary
Where they are clean themselves: they need to point to the root cause of the waste as being FF... on a case by case basis (many press releases !)
