    Is Eamon Ryan Scizophrenic?

Minister backs senators over Justice Bill abstentions | BreakingNews.ie

Here we have a minsiter giving his "full support" to Green Senators who broke ranks with the government in a vote on a bill that he voted in favour of a few days ago.

How can Mr Ryan vote for something and then "fully support" people who felt "they needed to make a statement" and do so by withdrawing their support for a government bill?

The issue was in relation to the mechanism to be used for reviewing the effectiveness of the Act in 12 months time. Dermot Ahern refused to accept a Green amendment that would have clarified the language, so Senators Boyle and DeBurca gave him a metaphorical head butt.

He can expect more of this in the Autumn

That may well be the case, but it makes the Greens look like idiots.
A demagogue is someone who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.

Has he recovered from this metaphorical headbutt?

    Will his career survive?

Only because, as usual, they haven't tried to spin it. I just heard Dan Boyle on the radio and I was pulling my hair out.

He was straight, he was honest, he explained the situation (macro and micro) in very clear terms.

But if he had a PR advisor they would have shot him.

As you rightly identify, people don't want politicians who tell the truth, and the regard those who do tell the truth as idiots.

Stroke Fahy topped the poll: Niall O'Brolchain didn't get re-elected.

    Go figure!

You are mistaking schizophrenia with multiple personality disorder, people with schizophrenia have problems with their perception of reality.

Having a relation with the disease I know that its more a case of at times and not always having a splintered outlook. However the drugs out today are seemingly very good at treating people with it and they can lead a reasonably normal life. I don't think that the term should be thrown around with people who don't have it though.
