    JAPAN PM Calls General Election after Poor Local Polling Results

    Perhaps Brian Cowen could take this lead from the Japanese PM and do the honourable thing!!!

    I've a good idea.

    Why don't we set up a system in which the it is a legal requirement to dissolve the Dail if the Government has a bad showing in the Locals, and it is a legal requirement to dissolve all County Councils if the Government has a bad showing in a General Elections.

    That way we could use the Locals to to express our views on national issues, and the General Election to express our views on local issues.

    Simple.
