Now let's set this against Ireland. Can socialism work for Ireland? Let's look at our debts, short term we owe around 12 billion up to 31st may 2010. Outstanding long term debts until 2020 clock up to 56 billion. We have a deficit of 25+ billion. Unemployment climbing up towards 15%.

I guess we nationalise all the banks, waterford crystal, sr technics and borrow borrow borrow and how dare people give out about the public sector, turn every single Irish person into a debt slave and ensure that generations will pay for the idiotic ideas of the left. It will never work for this country, we have no resources. Tax the rich and the corporations will ensure that the MNC's will leave in droves, more people on the breadline.

Ah, no. You have it all wrong, Lib. You don't understand socialism, do you?
We'd have to form several committee's of the people first. Then we would have to come to a collective decision on what course of action to take. This of course would be to nationalise everything that isn't nailed down (and then nationalise the nails) but by the time we came to a decision there would be nothing left to nationalise.

So then we'd have to form another committee to decide on what to do next. We'd then take some time to reach a decision, which would be to fill the gaps which our inaction has taken by establishing a bank, a posh glass factory, an airplane machanics workshop. Then we'd have to decide what interest rate we'd charge (if any) and what to make in the glass shop, what the people's needs are, who are the people, the fact that we can't meet all needs all the time, so whoes needs do we meet first? Then we'd have to decide what to do about the riots cause by the people who's needs the committee of the people decided not to meet... and so on ad infinitum.
    A poster of some consequence...
