A quick calculation here. Roughly 330,000 public servants. Most of them have a partner/wife/husband/mother/father/sister/best friend who may or may not work in the public sector. For every public servant there should be at least two other people who will be seriously annoyed when job or pay cuts are imposed. Take someone who has already had their pay and conditions cut in the private sector and is relying on his/her public servant partners's wages to pay the mortgage.
Up to a million people is a lot of people to pi*s off. Big political calculation involved well before debating the rights and wrongs of it.

Well I dont think it the middle class reasonably well paid you need to be worrying about, but I do think this country is on the verge of going off the deep end. I strongly suggest somebody lock up the liberal right wing for a year of two, we dont bend in this country, we break! This will be biblical if these guy continue. Cant see a riot squand on pay cuts breaking their asr* either.
