    The Irish Times.
On a Sunday.....its probably the Tribune. But only by default, because the quality on Sunday these days is very poor.

    Best journalist: Tough to say.
I'd have to say Lara Marlowe, even though her opinions wrankle with me sometimes. Not liking a journalists viewpoint shouldn't blind you to their standard of journalism (people should try to apply that to Robert Fisk a bit more)

Fionnán Sheahan and Mark Hennessy probably tie as the best politicos. Sheahan has dragged up the standards at the Indo a lot over the last few months, while Hennessy has continued to impress for a long time.

Ian O'Doherty's I Spy column in the Indo
Biggest pile of ************************************g ************************ that has ever been foisted on us

Its like Myers' "Irishman's Diary"...........for total numbskulls
"The IRA Army Council have a history of telling the truth. If they say they didn't do it, then I believe them" - Bertie Ahern, speaking after the murder of Det. Garda Jerry McCabe

Yeah she's great. For foreign reporting she must be our best. Can't say I find her opinions that much different from mine on ME affairs TBH.

I'd go for the IT. On Sunday I might flick through the Tribune, but I really like the SBP. They generally do great analysis pieces (I think it's called "News Focus" or something like that). Cartoons are awful though.

Pat Leahy's a great journalist, who perhaps doesn't get as much credit as he should (perhaps because he's less prone to sensationalism).

My favourite Journalists are Michael Clifford, Diarmuid Doyle and of course Robert Fisk. Fisk's genuine and honest analysis of Middle Eastermna ffairs isa true breath of fresh air amongst all the claptrap and lies from Sky news fox News CNN et al. If only we had more investigative hard hitting journalists in this country than just th ones above, I'd be buying a paper everyday instead of just buying the Sunday Tribune each week and nothing else.

Also you cant beat the Joe Higgins Column in 'The Socialist' a fantastic read in a fantadstic paper!
IT IS BETTER TO DESERVE A MEDAL AND NOT GET ONE, THAN TO GET A MEDAL AND NOT DESERVE IT
